Nederlandse Coeliakie Vereniging (NCV)
20,000 members. Runs the Horeca Alliantie Glutenvrij and issues the 'Zorgeloos Glutenvrij' (carefree gluten free) mark to venues it audits — the strongest signal on a Dutch door. Also licenses the AOECS Crossed Grain trademark for Benelux products. Public list of accredited venues on glutenvrij.nl
What to know here
- Look for the 'Zorgeloos Glutenvrij' mark — venues carrying it are audited by the NCV, not just self-declared. Their public directory lists every accredited venue.
- On products, the Crossed Grain symbol is licensed and monitored by the NCV for the Benelux — the label to trust in supermarkets.
- Glutenvrij is the word to look for; staff English is excellent, so ask directly about cross-contamination.
- Bitterballen and most fried snacks share fryers. Assume shared unless told otherwise.
